Men=Victims

The men are obviously the victims in the Crucible. They are constantly being taken advantage of by the women in Salem. One example of this is John Proctor’s affair with Abigail. She is a young and deceitful girl who tempted John Proctor, a married man, into having an affair with her. Elizabeth, John’s wife, makes her husband seem like the aggressor and that the affair was all his fault when she says, “John, you are not open with me. You saw her with a crowd, you said. Now you—”(55). Similarly, we can see that Abigail victimizes John when Mary Warren reveals that, “Abby’ll charge lechery on you, Mr. Proctor”(80).  This is a false accusation and the only reason that Abigail would do this is because she is angry with John for not wanting to be with her instead of his wife. This is cleary another time when a Salem man is wrongfully accused and victimized by a woman of Salem.
